Salary:

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $20.00 - $30.00 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Summary:

The Modern Workplace Technician will acquire the knowledge and follow established processes to help provide an efficient IT support environment. This role will work closely with the team to ensure day-to-day support needs are met and will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for delivering IT services across the organization. The incumbent will collaborate with team members to provide effective solutions for business users and will assume responsibility for supporting applications, desktop and laptop device management, and related IT services.

The Modern Workplace Technician will leverage technical knowledge and partner with senior team members to help establish and maintain an optimal workplace environment. This role will contribute to the ongoing development of a modern workplace by administering and supporting various services and technologies across the organization, with a focus on Microsoft cloud solutions and endpoint management tools.


Essential Functions:

  • Participate in establishing a state-of-the-art workplace environment that supports modern ways of working, with a focus on digital collaboration, user experience, mobility, and security.
  • Contribute to identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, hardware and software solutions, methods, and techniques to determine their relevance and potential value to the organization's digital workplace.
  • Assist in the design, testing, implementation, and adoption of new technologies and collaboration tools within the modern workplace environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to effectively implement and support Modern Workplace portfolio services within a managed services environment.
  • Work with team members to define, enhance, and deliver workplace services that create value for business users.
  • Apply basic troubleshooting and configuration skills while demonstrating a willingness to develop advanced technical expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting solutions for new and evolving business needs.
  • Support the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft cloud services, endpoint management tools, and workplace technologies.
  • Assist in ensuring service quality, security, compliance, and operational excellence across the workplace technology environment.
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures to support efficient service delivery and knowledge sharing.
  • Flexibility to travel to business unit locations throughout the EEU region as needed.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant IT certifications are a plus.
Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in Information Technology, including experience as a Level 1 Technician in a customer service-focused support environment.

Note: This is an office-based position, and individuals are expected to be in the office 5 days per week.

General skills:

  • Troubleshooting and configuration of customer issues.
  • Assists in the development of standards around the products of ownership.
  • Ability to conduct root-cause analysis for service interruptions and establish preventive measures.
  • Adheres to standards, best practices, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between IT and the Business Infrastructure Services

Technical skills:

  • O365/AD/Azure Administration - Basic skills in Adding/Removing permissions for access and licensing. Add/remove users and computers and add/remove mailbox(s) / shared mailbox(s) permissions.
  • Printer administration - Good knowledge and troubleshooting skills on printers and Print Server administration
  • VPN & MFA - Client Install and basic troubleshooting skills
  • PC Desktop and Laptop - Basic knowledge of PC Desktop & Laptop diagnostics and testing skills. Perform rebuilds, installations & imaging of client computers.
  • Microsoft OS & Office365 basic troubleshooting

Administrative & Compliance skills:

  • Ability to operate remotely, providing support using tools like LogMeIN, GotoMyPc, TeamViewer, etc.
  • Ensure weekly status reports are produced. Operate in an ITIL framework and adhere to SOX compliance needs
  • Streamline hardware and software procurement. Services
