Job description

Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is seeking a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer to support advanced situational awareness and multi-domain operations (MDO) programs. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and integration of RF and signal processing systems that enable next-generation battlefield awareness, electronic warfare, and spectrum management capabilities.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and operators to design and deliver systems that integrate data from diverse sensors, communications, and radar systems to provide actionable intelligence and operational advantage. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in RF, signal processing, and spectrum management, along with experience contributing to mission-critical DoD programs in multi-domain environments.

This is a full time position located at MacDill AFB, FL or Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Lead the modeling, simulation, and design of complex technical systems to evaluate performance, mitigate risk, and inform architecture decisions.

  • Develop and apply simulations across sensing, communications, and electronic systems, including analog and digital components.

  • Provide technical direction for multidisciplinary modeling and simulation efforts, ensuring alignment with program and organizational objectives.

  • Address complex, interdisciplinary challenges through creative application of advanced modeling tools and analytical techniques.

  • Collaborate with engineering, data, and operational teams to shape system designs and enable integrated, mission-ready solutions.

  • Analyze system behavior under realistic and stressed conditions to improve robustness and operational effectiveness.

  • Serve as a technical interface with internal teams, partners, and customers to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful delivery.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Secret (ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly required)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline.

Experience: 8 years of prior relevant experience with 5-7+ years of experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis of complex technical systems such as sensing, communications, or signal-based technologies.

  • Strong expertise in RF engineering, spectrum management, signal processing, and sensor systems.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, radar, communications systems, and electronic warfare platforms.
  • Proficiency in signal processing software and languages and experience with AI/ML applied to sensor data.
  • Familiarity with multi-domain operational concepts, situational awareness systems, and DoD sensor architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, lead technical efforts, and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Experience: 

  • Experience designing or modeling complex systems intended for use across multiple operational environments or domains

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, COMSOL, or comparable platforms

  • Advanced technical expertise in RF, electromagnetic, or signal-based systems including modeling, analysis, and performance optimization

  • Familiarity with applying AI/ML or advanced analytics within modeling and simulation workflows to improve system performance or decision support

Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to address complex interdisciplinary challenges through analytical and modeling approaches

  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, data, and operational teams

  • Ability to serve as a technical interface with internal teams, partners, and customers
