Job description

Manager, FP&A

Position Overview

Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Accounting & Finance Recruitment, has been engaged on a confidential basis by an established, mission driven organization in Winnipeg to fill a newly created Manager, FP&A position. Reporting into senior leadership and working closely with the organization's finance function, this individual will take ownership of planning, forecasting, and reporting activities while the organization works through a broader modernization of its financial tools and processes.

This is a great fit for a finance professional who enjoys building things rather than maintaining the status quo. The role does not carry direct people management responsibility, which makes it well suited either to an experienced finance leader looking for a hands on, high impact contributor position, or to an ambitious analyst or manager ready to step into a broader, more strategic mandate and gain exposure well beyond a typical FP&A seat.

 What You Will Do

•      Own the budgeting cycle from start to finish, working with department and program leads to build a plan the organization can actually manage against.

•      Produce rolling forecasts and scenario models that help leadership understand the financial impact of different decisions before they are made.

•      Track performance against plan, dig into the variances, and turn that analysis into clear takeaways for people who are not finance specialists.

•      Build out costing and investment models to evaluate new initiatives, funding opportunities, and larger capital decisions.

•      Act as a go to resource for leadership on financial questions, translating numbers into narrative that supports better decisions.

•      Contribute to the design and rollout of new financial policies and procedures as the organization professionalizes its finance practices.

•      Support year end close, external audit, and preparation of financial statements alongside the core finance team.

•      Pull together financial materials and analysis used in reporting to senior leadership and governance groups.

•      Play a hands on role in evaluating and rolling out new financial systems, planning tools, and reporting infrastructure.

•      Design dashboards and recurring reporting packages that make financial information easier to access and act on across the organization.

 What You Bring

•      A Canadian CPA designation is required for this role #LI-Onsite

•      A solid track record in FP&A, financial planning, or a similar analytical finance role, gained over several years.

•      Hands on experience building budgets, forecasts, and financial models, ideally across more than one business unit or funding source.

•      Some exposure to system or process change is a plus, whether that is a new ERP, a new budgeting tool, or simply modernizing how reporting gets done.

•      Comfort working through ambiguity and building structure where it does not fully exist yet.

•      Experience presenting to or supporting senior leaders is an asset, though not a requirement.

•      Familiarity with fund accounting or restricted funding environments is a plus, though candidates from other sectors are welcome to apply.

•      A collaborative style and the confidence to work across departments outside of finance.

What Is In It For You

•     Competitive compensation package DOQ

•      A generous time off package, including vacation, personal days, and additional flex time.

•      Company paid extended health and dental coverage.

•      Defined benefit pension plan with an employer match.

•      Meaningful, visible work with a real opportunity to shape how the organization plans and reports on its finances going forward.
