Job description

GMF Steel Group is seeking highly motivated Structural Ironworkers/Structural Welder to join our team.

The ideal candidate also demonstrates a solid commitment to safety by following company and industry procedures.



Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Read and follow blueprints to establish the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required
  • Connect columns, beams, and girders, following blueprints and directions from the supervisor
  • Aligned steel members in position for permanent bolting or welding into place
  • Hoist steel beams, girders, or columns into place, using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members
  • Cut or weld steel pieces using torches or welding equipment
  • Maintain and operate trade tools and equipment
  • Stack, load, and unload steel pieces


Qualifications:


  • Must be able to work in high places and have a good sense of balance
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50/60+ lbs of equipment and lift 100lbs
  • Be willing to travel as required by the employer
  • Be reliable and practice good attendance
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or experience in the field
  • Ability to pass all the screening before employment
  • Physical endurance to complete the necessary tasks

Responsabilidades y deberes:


  • Lea y siga los planos para establecer las ubicaciones, cantidades o tamanos de materiales requeridos.
  • Conecte columnas, vigas y vigas, siguiendo los planos y las instrucciones del supervisor.

  • Sea confiable y practique una buena asistencia.
  • Diploma de escuela secundaria o su equivalente.
  • Finalizacion de un aprendizaje o experiencia en el campo
  • Capacidad para pasar toda la evaluacion antes del empleo
  • Resistencia fisica para completar las tareas necesarias
