Job description

Hotel Maintenance & Facilities Technician

Department: Engineering Reports To: Chief Engineer Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (including weekends & holidays)

Do You Have the J Quality?

At Meyer Jabara Hotels, we believe the best hospitality comes from people who genuinely care - about their craft, their teammates, and the guests they serve. We call it the J Quality: a mindset of ownership, pride, and heart that sets our properties apart.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAGd0FhBqJs&feature=youtu.be

If you're the kind of person who notices a squeaky hinge before a guest does, takes satisfaction in a perfectly patched wall, and believes your work directly shapes someone's travel experience - we want to meet you.

What You'll Do

As an Engineer on our 2nd shift team, you are the backbone of the guest experience after hours. You'll keep our property safe, functional, and beautiful - and when something goes wrong, you'll be the calm, capable person who makes it right.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Responding to guest maintenance requests promptly and resolving them to the guest's satisfaction
  • Performing repairs and maintenance across hotel
  • Executing and documenting preventative maintenance programs to keep the property in peak condition
  • Keeping all equipment, work areas, and departmental logs clean and organized
  • Patrolling the building and parking areas to identify and proactively address any safety, security, or maintenance concerns
  • Reporting suspicious activity or unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer immediately
  • Staying cross-trained on the responsibilities of fellow Engineers so the team is always covered

What You Bring

Skills & Attributes:

  • A self-starter with a steady, even-tempered approach - you don't rattle easily
  • Clear communicator, both in conversation with guests and in written maintenance logs
  • Takes pride in their appearance and represents the property professionally
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed - attendance matters here
  • Valid driver's license required (you'll occasionally operate a hotel vehicle)

Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable with frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying
  • Able to bend, kneel, climb stairs and ladders throughout your shift
  • Full mobility to respond quickly anywhere on property, including emergencies
  • Must be able to drive a company truck to pick up equipment and supplies

Schedule & Availability

This is a 2nd shift position (3 PM–11 PM), and availability on weekends and holidays is required. If your schedule works, we'll make sure the role is worth your time.

Why Meyer Jabara Hotels?

We're not a faceless chain. We're a family-owned hotel company built on genuine relationships - with our guests and with our people. Engineers here aren't just maintenance workers; they're part of a team that takes real ownership of the property and the guest experience.

If you're ready to bring your skills somewhere they'll be noticed, valued, and put to real use - apply today
