Fishbeck utilizes the latest surveying technologies and workflows, including remote communications between the field and home office. Our team works with industry-leading equipment and software such as robotic total stations (Trimble S7), electronic levels (Trimble DiNi), GPS RTK units (Trimble R10), Trimble Business Center v4.0 for data collection and processing, Trimble Access for cloud-based data transfer, LiDAR processing software, field scanning equipment, and Seafloor Hydrone RCV equipment for bathymetric surveys.
If you do not yet have experience with all of the equipment listed but have a strong desire to learn and grow alongside skilled professionals, this role offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on training and professional development.
What You’ll Do
  • Adjust and operate modern survey instruments, including total stations, GPS/GNSS units, and data collectors.
  • Operate computerized data collection systems and maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and measurements.
  • Compile information needed to stake projects for construction based on engineering plans and specifications.
  • Collect data for engineering design surveys, right‑of‑way surveys, topographic surveys, and as‑built documentation.
  • Process field data and develop boundary, topographic, right‑of‑way, and as‑built survey deliverables using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Perform field investigations, project site reviews, and coordinate with internal teams and external clients.
  • Support mobile and terrestrial LiDAR data collection workflows as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or Engineering preferred; equivalent applicable experience considered.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • 1 year surveying experience preferred.
  • Experience with MicroStation Select Series, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
  • Prior experience with Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) projects preferred.
  • Ability to work safely on active construction and project sites while following all safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

Work will include outdoor environments in varying weather conditions. Office responsibilities include computer‑based tasks and use of standard office equipment, involving sitting, standing, and light lifting. Visual acuity and clear communication (written and verbal) are essential.
