Robotics Engineer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking Scientists and Engineers specializing in robotic algorithm development, field-testing, and dynamical systems control. This role joins a growing robotics division focused on the development of real-time algorithms for robotics applications. These applications include multi-robot collaboration, swarming, path planning, guidance, navigation, world-modeling, and task allocation for multi-domain robots.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform autonomous robotic algorithm development and validation tasks with limited guidance.
  • Develop expertise in specific areas of robotics.
  • Perform rapid simulation development, prototyping, and field-testing.
  • Contribute to white papers, proposals, technical reports, and presentations.
  • Serve as a technical lead on programs, driving the development and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior research faculty.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 2-5 years of experience.
  • A Master's degree in a related field with 0-3 years of experience.
  • A Ph.D. in a related field with 0 years of experience.
  • Candidates currently enrolled in a relevant accredited degree program with a graduation date no later than August 2026 will be considered.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience with C++, Python, ROS, and Linux.
  • Experience with robotic simulation engines such as Gazebo and SCRIMMAGE.
  • Hands-on experience with algorithms on real-world mobile robot systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to research contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A strong history of publication or hardware-implementation of advanced algorithms.
  • Experience with fast prototyping in Python and C++ for real-time operation on a robot in real-world environments.
  • Experience in multi-robot teams, path planning, navigation, behavior-based robotics, vehicle control, state estimation, or machine learning for robotic control.
Travel Requirements
This position involves 10% - 25% travel.
