TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Libertyville, Texas.

Job Description & Requirements

MGR INTERVIEW


 Required Certifications:
o   BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC; CPI/MOAB, TCRN, TNS, ENPC preferred

Skills required
o   IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertion, medication titration (pressors, insulin, sedation), trauma experience, stroke experience with TPA administration; US guided IV preferred

o   All agency staff assigned to the ED at Condell are re-validated on their ability to draw a blood culture without a break in technique leading to a contaminated specimen

o   EPIC experience

Education required:


Patient Ratios:
o   RN: 1:4-6; usually 1:4-5 during days and will flex to 6 at night
▪          When fully staffed, ratio is 1:3


Patient Types:

o   Average patient load: 150 patients per 24 hours

o   All ED patient types from neonates to geriatrics

o   No inpatient pediatric units – will transfer pediatrics to Advocate Lutheran or Advocate Children’s

o   Stroke (TPA administration), DKA, Trauma (GSW, MVC, elderly falls), geriatric psych, abdominal pain, COVID, STEMI

o   Heavy behavioral health population

o   ICU Holds – department has capabilities of EICU RN


General Information
o   Beds: 44 individual rooms, 10 hallway beds, approx. 5 cardiac chairs
o   Will you accept a traveler with 1 year experience? No, 2 years of recent ED experience
o   Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, with 2 years of ED experience

o   Ranger – massive transfusions
