GIT Infrastructure - Manager Data Center
PURPOSE
The SMC IT Infrastructure Manager will partner with the IT Leadership team to ensure the IT infrastructure's availability, performance, and stability support SMC's strategic goals. This role will oversee and direct infrastructure services such as data center network, compute, storage, server and virtualization, WAN/MAN, campus networking, and operational security. The IT Infrastructure Manager will lead an advanced team of system administrators and engineers to provide outstanding support to other IT teams and the business. This position is an essential leader on a team that encourages an adaptable culture, transformative thinking, and continuous learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide awesome support for current and future enterprises systems
  • Collaborate with partners on value driven solutions, shared learning opportunities, driving new technology, innovation, and adoption
  • Oversee IT Infrastructure implementations, forecasting, and maintenance concentrating on technical and financial impacts
  • Lead a team of System Administrators and Engineers in charge of various hardware and software platforms for the department
  • Proactively look for ways to improve administration, monitoring, reporting, and standard operating procedures
  • Manage vendor, partner, and manufacturer relationships
  • Create and monitor metrics to continuously improve IT Infrastructure services
  • Perform annual salary and performance reviews
  • Other duties as assigned

TEAM MANAGEMENT
  • Build, support, and develop an effective team
  • Influence team members to take positive action, accountability, and responsibility for their work performance
  • Provide constructive feedback to direct reports as needed
  • Develop career path & succession plans and recommend development opportunities to team members to enhance their personal and professional growth
  • Perform annual salary and performance reviews

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of Networks, System, and/or Data Center Engineers
  • Involvement in successful large hardware/software implementations
  • Vendor and contract management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Collaborative team environment in a shared workspace
  • General office, computer room, warehouse, and factory areas
  • Off-hours work and travel as required
  • Carry mobile phone during work and off-hours
  • Vigilant adherence to SMC IT security policies and procedures
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Minimum lifting requirements of 15 pounds
  • If applicable, eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study, or equivalent verifiable education/work experience
  • 5+ years of verifiable experience in designing, building, and managing large Enterprise IT networks
  • 7+ years of management and/or supervisory experience
  • Valid passport
  • Ability to travel abroad
