This position requires an employee to work between 20-25 hours per week during the school semesters, and 40 hours per week during summer, not to exceed 1,500 hours in a calendar year. Each semester, undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and graduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
INTERN GUIDELINES:
Students who have completed at least one year of college and are enrolled as a full-time student may apply. Must be enrolled full-time in a degree seeking program. A student's intern position will end within three months after graduation.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Under the general direction of the Manager - Power Station Operations or designee, assists in the implementation and maintenance of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by supporting asset data validation, reconciliation, and standardization efforts to ensure accurate and reliable asset information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in the development, validation, and maintenance of asset hierarchies for a new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
2. Assists in verifying physical plant assets against existing CMMS records, engineering documentation, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system data.
3. Supports the reconciliation and mapping of asset information between the legacy CMMS, LOTO system, and the new CMMS platform.
4. Reviews asset data for accuracy and completeness and assists in identifying duplicate, obsolete, or missing asset records.
5. Assists subject matter experts in asset validation activities, including coordination of field walkdowns and documentation of findings.
6. Assists in the collection, organization, and entry of asset data, including equipment descriptions, locations, classifications, and safety attributes.
7. Assists in documenting asset naming conventions, hierarchy standards, and data governance procedures related to CMMS implementation.
8. Assists in the preparation of documentation related to asset verification and data quality.
9. Provides administrative and technical support to the CMMS project team, including document organization and meeting support.
10. Follows applicable safety procedures and assists in maintaining awareness of Lockout/Tagout requirements related to asset records.
11. Performs other related duties as required or assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent and current enrollment pursuing the Mechatronics Associate Degree or related field from an accredited college is required. Recent experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Licensing/Certification:
Must have a valid driver's license (minimum Class F).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic understanding of maintenance or industrial environments and asset management concepts.
Introductory knowledge of CMMS and general data management principles.
General awareness of safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Basic analytical skills to compare and reconcile information across systems.
Effective communication skills for documentation and team coordination.
Ability to:
Organize, track, and maintain large amounts of information in a structured manner.
Follow instructions, procedures, and established standards.
Work independently and in a team environment.

Safety Sensitive Position:
A safety-sensitive position involves the performance of duties which may have a direct and immediate impact on the safety of the public and other public employees. This is a safety sensitive position.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 55 pounds regularly and 80 pounds occasionally and work at heights.
Working Conditions:
Duties are normally performed in an office with some occasional field trips. Power station environment with the inherent noise and heat of large machinery and fugitive dust and fumes from the coal fuel. Work at heights on plant structures will sometimes be required. May work in proximity to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
May be eligible for the protective footwear allowance and prescription safety eyeglass reimbursement. Not eligible for shift differential.
Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Required to wear uniform clothing provided by City Utilities, including flame retardant/arc rated clothing. Management retains the right to require replacement due to wear or staining.
New hires are informed of the requirements of the Internship Program upon hire, and incumbents must continue to meet the requirements each semester in order to continue employment. Interns who do not meet the requirements may beineligible for the internship and their employment may be terminated.
Employee must remain alert and aware of their surroundings at all times and maintain the ability to respond to changing circumstances in a timely manner.
