Summary
The Rice Lake critical care transport team includes Critical Care Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians - Basic and Advance. This teams provides care and management of patients of all ages and acuity in a mobile environment for 911 and interfacility transports. Patient care is determined on patient needs, acuity, assessment, and written/protocol orders under the direction of a medical provider. Our team is dedicated to providing extraordinary care to patients throughout their transport and beyond. We offer 12 and 24 hour shifts, weekend and holiday rotations and self-scheduling. Please note that the Rice Lake Ambulance Team has an onsite Station Dog.
Job Description
Lead Paramedics and Registered Nurse for the EMS Team help provide advanced medical care to patients. Individuals must have the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation.
Qualifications
Paramedic
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred.
A minimum of two years of experience as a paramedic in an Ambulance setting. Must have a thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques, knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
Must hold national registry status at a Paramedic level. Depending on state requirements, individuals may need to have a state license. This position requires a Wisconsin Paramedic license.
Registered Nurse
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
Paramedic and Registered Nurse
Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional licensures as required depending upon state; Paramedic (PAR) Certification, National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS)100, 200, and 700 completed and continued education hour's as mandated by accreditation.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent, advanced version for paramedics, International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred depending on location. Additional training provided/workshops and staff meetings are to be attended as per policy.
Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record.
