Job Description

The Automation Engineer tests, creates, implements and supports robotics process and desktop automations. Performs design, scripting, testing, implementing, maintaining and modifying automations of moderate complexity, significance, and risk. Creates comprehensive test plans and test cases; defines automation data needs across systems and creates a plan to coordinate this test data. Creates and executes performance tests to ensure the expected automation performance levels are achieved. Performs, and at times, leads clients and technical staff to investigate, analyze, and resolve technical problems. Writes documentation that describes automation capabilities and operating procedures. Estimates and defines timetables and project tasks; analyzes and estimates cost and time. Conducts analysis of organizational needs for the creation and implementation of automation solutions; participates in feasibility assessments of new automation opportunities and helps determine best approach for automation.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Seven to nine years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic or automating complex processes
Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in creating and maintaining automated test frameworks for mobile applications, backend services, and SDK integrations
  • Strong proficiency in Java/Kotlin and experience writing maintainable automation code
  • Expertise in API, integration, regression, and end-to-end test automation
  • Experience validating RESTful services and mobile-to-backend communication patterns
  • Experience testing SDKs, libraries, and platform components across multiple environments strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, across mobile clients and backend services
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and release validation processes
  • Experience supporting high-scale, production-grade applications and distributed systems with a focus on quality, stability, and release readiness
  • Familiarity with test reporting, logging, monitoring, and quality dashboards
  • Knowledge of Payments/FinTech industry a plus, but not required

Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. Pay Range: $98,175.00 - $115,500.00
