Job Summary

The mobile maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the mobile equipment fleet at the Andersonville facilities and assisting other maintenance personnel and operations resolving plant issues. The technician must be a motivated, self-starter who will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks of an electrical and mechanical nature on a regular basis. This position is committed to providing the necessary service to maintain mobile equipment at a high rate of safety, availability and at the most effective cost.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The mobile maintenance technician at Imery Refractory Minerals primary duty is to ensure mobile equipment reliability meets the production levels as required. Provide support and assistance for Maintenance and Engineering activities.

  • Service and maintain existing mobile and related equipment including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic plus the test equipment needed to do this servicing.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, calibration, and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems. Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether instrumentation or other errors contributed to the problems.

  • This position will also participate in plant maintenance projects, plant equipment checks and other plant maintenance support activities such as the installation and rebuilding of machinery miscellaneous equipment and parts.

Skills and Attributes Requirements

  • Individuals must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to co-workers and supervisors. Must have the ability to read and comprehend work instructions, equipment manuals, safety procedures, standards, and electrical control diagrams. Must be able to correctly identify electrical wiring color.

  • Computer Skills: Familiar with Microsoft Office and other basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use computers to input data, retrieve work orders, maintain data and research parts.

  • Physical Requirements: Routine lifting of heavy objects. Subject to climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, and work at heights. Work is subject to standing or walking for long periods of time.

  • Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job; the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, energized equipment, dusty conditions, high noise, outside weather in all conditions and materials used in the process.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Requires a High School diploma/GED with a minimum of three (3) years industrial mobile maintenance experience emphasizing troubleshooting and repair. A technical degree or certificate program is desired, but not necessary.

Environment

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

Must be able to lift 100 lbs. with assistance.

Must be able to work in hot and cold weather conditions.

Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places.

Must be able to work in close quarters.

Must be able to wear required safety equipment and follow company

safety rules and MSHA rules.
