Senior Field Applications Engineer to join the Americas FAE team, reporting to the FAE Manager. This individual will be an articulate, personable professional responsible for field applications engineering in designated regions of the Americas. The individual selected will work directly with Sales Managers, business unit teams, Customers, Sales Representative Partners, Distributors, and others to provide technical support to achieve new design-ins.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Achieve product design wins at customers for all Qorvo business units, with particular emphasis on Defense and Aerospace
  • Provide initial technical support for all Products for customers.
  • Assist customers with overall design approach, such as ESD, FCC (emissions), thermal design, etc.
  • Work with customers to identify and define new product requirements.
  • Work with business unit Applications and Marketing teams representing customer issues and requirements
  • Failure analysis support and problem resolution.
  • Perform additional testing and characterization of Qorvo devices and customer designs as needed.
  • Cross competitor devices and assist with maintenance of a cross reference database.
  • Provide technical product updates to customers to assist the regional sales team.
  • Periodic travel to customer regions and travel as needed to resolve design or production issues.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 5+ or more years of experience in an RF/Microwave technical role (design, product engineering, applications engineering, etc)
  • Hands-on experience of RF circuit/system design and debugging
  • High level understanding of RF Systems from the system design level to the various components which make up the system
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications and requirements
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or PHD in in electrical engineering
  • Experience with Gallium Nitride (GaN) power amplifiers
  • Experience with ADS or equivalent RF simulation tools
  • Experience with Power Management ICs (PMICs)

Position Location: Southern California or Arizona
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.
This position requires work on US Government contracts. Applicants must be a US Person (US citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $92,400 - $120,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo. More information on the Total Rewards package can be shared upon request.
