Job Description:

Nebraska DHHS is searching for an experienced IT Application Developer Senior QA specializing in UI and Automation Testing with strong expertise in designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions for web, mobile, and enterprise applications. Responsible for ensuring software quality through comprehensive test planning, automation framework development, functional and regression testing, and continuous integration practices. Collaborates with developers, business analysts, product owners, and UX teams to deliver high-quality applications while improving testing efficiency and reducing production defects.
This is a full-time/permanent on-site role in Lincoln, Nebraska. Not eligible to be a contracted position.

Examples of Work

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI automation frameworks and test suites.
  • Create and execute automated and manual test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Validate user interface functionality, usability, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent technologies.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and release activities.
  • Ensure adherence to QA standards, testing best practices, and software quality processes.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to automation strategy and quality improvements.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, test management tools, and defect tracking systems.
  • Certifications in UX research, usability testing, or accessibility are advantageous.
  • Experience with enterprise, SaaS, mobile, and web applications.
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience.

Other: Regular and reliable attendance. Not a remote position. This position must report to the Nebraska State Office Building (NSOB) in Lincoln.
