Job description

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Mechanical Engineer - Engine and Cooling Systems
This position will be responsible for the testing and development of engine & cooling components and systems for construction & forestry equipment. These designs primarily include hoses, tubes, cooling packages, etc. but could also include electrical, hydraulic, structures, or other machine componentry. This role involves working closely with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to develop and improve efficient, robust, and cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Create models and prints utilizing proper model-based definition methods and GD&T
  • Creation and support of 2D drawings and specification documentation
  • Support the factory with both durability and production builds
  • Provide technical guidance and problem resolution
  • Review, understand, and interpret specifications
  • Communicate project details across all levels of the organization
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects with different product groups

Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering or related degree
  • 2+ years of demonstrated product design or relevant mechanical engineering experience
  • Proficient in 3D Modeling software (Creo Preferred)
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects with minimal oversight
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently

Desired Skills
  • Experience working with engine & cooling designs, including welding and paint processes
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies
  • Ability to address quality issues, determine root cause and drive to a corrective action
  • Design experience with off-road mobile equipment, ideally crawlers
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Knowledge and application of GD&T standards (trainable)
  • Previous experience identifying and leading projects
  • Experience operating off-road mobile equipment
  • Previous experience with Windchill or PDMLink
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
