Job description

PURPOSE: To provide exceptional guest service to all guests at Mall of America and to assist guests in purchasing merchandise and tickets for Nickelodeon Universe®.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and conversing with guests and determining their needs.
  • Assist guests with product questions and general questions about MOA and the local region.
  • Recommend, select and assist in locating merchandise based on guests' needs.
  • Prepare and organize product for display for purchase.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and discounts.
  • Understand specific product knowledge such as features, similar products, and benefits.
  • Clean, organize, stock, and maintain specific product displays as directed.
  • Complete inventory on selected products while keeping items organized and maintained.
  • Communicate inventory levels of assigned product area to supervisors.
  • Oversee safety and cleanliness of the sales floor.
  • Ring and count out funds accurately and timely following established cash handling procedures.
  • Consistently practice procedures of loss prevention.
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
  • Print and change Order Entry orders.
  • Complete safety checklist and training.
  • Check in retail stock, ensure that all product is on the sales floor and represented, placing backstock in the proper location in the stockrooms.
  • Cross train with other MOA departments, and willing to regularly be assigned to assist as needed.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and high-volume days.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Outstanding guest service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills
  • Previous point of sale experience including cash handling.
  • Interpersonal skills - working alone and with team.
  • Previous retail experience preferred.
  • Previous guest service experience preferred.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member will frequently be required to speak and listen to guests in order to understand their needs and communicate a solution. Team member must also possess a level of hearing that will continuously allow them to be aware of their surroundings and recognize when a guest needs their attention. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members are required to be able to tolerate multiple sensory stimuli at once while performing their duties. These stimuli may include: loud auditory/noise, smells/olfactory, bright lights, colors, motion, and other visual stimuli.
