MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree/Valid Missouri SLP certificate required
  • SLP experience preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Comply with evaluation standards and determine eligibility for services based on the Local Plan for Compliance and MO DESE Standards and Indicators.
  • Effectively communicate test results, diagnosis, and proposed therapy plans.
  • Provide therapy to students according to their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Prepare written evaluations and maintain records which clearly and succinctly document services provided, student progress, and dismissal from services.
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary team process regarding eligibility, IEP development, consultation services, and service delivery models.
  • Employ instructional/therapeutic methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting each student's goals and objectives.
  • Participate in building, grade level, and subject area committees.
  • Remain current concerning instructional and technological advances involving speech-language therapy by participating in professional development, and provide in-service training to other professionals and paraprofessionals.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant student records including IEPs, Evaluation Reports, attendance, grades, and discipline.
  • Communicate with students who have disorders of communication, their families, caregivers, and other service providers relative to the student's disability and its management.
  • Assist in development of classroom activities to meet the communication needs of the student.
  • Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team, or other student assistance teams as requested.
  • Implement IEPs and individual health plans as written.
  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as directed by board policy.
  • Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
