Job description

Job Summary About Maple Grove, MN Maple Grove is a forward thinking, thriving community in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. We are home to over 73,000 residents with a projected population of 90,000 by 2040. The City of Maple Grove is proud to employ over 300 benefit-earning employees, 500+ part-time, casual, temporary, seasonal employees, and 100 paid-on-call firefighters to staff our many departments.

We provide public safety, public works, community and economic development, parks & recreation and many other important public services to a growing community. The Position The City of Maple Grove's Gym Attendant will provide supervision of basketball activities in the gymnasium, maintain a safe and orderly environment, set up and taking down equipment as needed, and implement community center policies. **This is a temporary position working through end of February 2027.** Hours: Wednesday & Friday 2:00-6:15 PM, Saturday 12:00 -6:45 PM, & Sunday 11:30 AM - 4:15 PM ** Posting will be open until filled** Responsibilities Supervises participants by monitoring and responding to behaviors and emergencies

Understand all community center gym schedules, policies, and procedures. Responsible for checking admissions wristbands to the gymnasium. Perform general cleaning and light maintenance in the gymnasium.

Knowledge of: Community center gym schedules, policies, and procedures. Ability to: Ability to express rules and policies assertively. Ability to communicate with the public in an orderly and professional manner.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Minimum: Must be at least 16 years of age Ability to carry 40 pounds Preferred: First-aid and CPR Certification WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions: Indoor basketball court. Increased noise with increased usage.
