Mailroom Clerk - Milwaukee, WI
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Job Type: Full-Time (temp to perm opportunity)
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mailroom Clerk to support daily mailroom operations in a professional office environment. The Mailroom Clerk will be responsible for receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and other materials while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working independently, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, organize, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
  • Prepare outgoing mail, packages, and other materials for shipment.
  • Operate postage meters, mail processing equipment, and other basic office equipment.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  • Deliver mail and packages to appropriate departments, offices, or personnel.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities as needed.
  • Process certified, priority, overnight, and other special deliveries.
  • Monitor mailroom supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure mailroom.
  • Follow established procedures for handling confidential or sensitive materials.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel.
  • Perform other administrative and mailroom-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous mailroom, shipping/receiving, warehouse, administrative, or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees and vendors.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move packages and mail weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull carts used to transport mail and packages.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry materials as needed.

Schedule & Compensation
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
