Mingus Mountain Academy, has immediate openings for Youth Counselors. Mingus Mountain Academy is a residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally at-risk adolescent girls that helps them achieve a positive, healthy future. Founded in 1985, the Academy is located on a 120-acre campus surrounded by National Forest, 25 minutes from the town of Prescott Valley, Arizona. Our program combines a positive culture, caring staff, careful medical treatment, individualized psychotherapy and education, and numerous activities, including our unique equestrian program.
Snapshot of Daily Duties
  • Follow up with Admissions Coordinator to ensure consent forms are signed
  • Orientate the students to MMA expectations, intake packet and campus
  • Update student info in database on intake and throughout student's stay at MMA
  • Provide transportation to current students to court, home passes, etc, as needed
  • Appear in court as needed, telephonic or in person
  • Relay information to caseworkers, good communication between MMA and agency
  • Participate in CFT meetings and act as a liaison for MMA and outside agency
  • Assist Marketing/Admissions Department when needed
  • Responsible for Clinical charts (correct order, needed paperwork, review monthly)
  • Facilitate students staffing's (service plans, signature pages, notes)
  • Compile monthly staffing reports for each student
  • Generate Monthly Clinical Supervision for Team Meeting
  • Compile and submit monthly referring/placing agency reports

  • Minimum age of 21
  • Has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma.
