Sequel Youth And Family Services

Located in Columbus, OH, Sequel Youth and Family Services provides treatment services to adolescents, ages 12 to 17, with mental health and behavioral disorders. We have a 20-bed acute hospital accredited by the Joint Commission for teens requiring intensive crisis care and treatment intervention.

Position Overview

Sequel Youth and Family Services has an immediate opening for Registered Nurses 7a – 7pm and 7pm – 7am for our Acute Unit.

Job Duties
  • Conduct initial medical assessments and document identified concerns of patients.
  • Complete progress notes within the required guidelines of the hospital and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform risk/lethality evaluations on "at risk" patients within the scope of training and licensure.
  • Ensure electronic patient files are current and in compliance according to the policies and procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate contact with families, guardians and other collaborative agencies.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of quality assurance nursing monitors.
  • Responsible for ensuring Med MARS are current and in compliance according to the policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients in the context of individual and group treatment for progress or the development of additional symptoms of mental/behavioral disorders.
  • Perform medication inventory and practices safe administration of medications.
  • Obtain and document physician's authorization regarding medication changes.
  • Report laboratory reports to the physician
Must Haves
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing/ BSN preferred.
  • Admissions experience
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Current Ohio RN license.
  • Trauma informed care experience
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the behavioral health field, providing treatment to children and adolescents.
  • Must complete BCI & FBI background reports
  • Must have negative drug screen results
  • Completed TB Test
  • Score a minimum of 70% or higher on the Pre-Employment test
