Job description

To support our mid- to long-term growth strategy in the United States, we are seeking a Manager, Sales & Marketing to identify, develop, and drive new business development projects across growth markets.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Sales & Marketing, will play a key role in identifying and advancing strategic new business development initiatives aligned with the company’s future growth strategy. This role focuses on discovering new opportunities, leading project execution, and building new businesses in U.S. growth markets. The industry focus is not limited; opportunities may include plastic-related raw materials and products currently handled by MPI, as well as new materials, emerging technologies, and new products. The position requires strong initiative, external engagement, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in early-stage new business development.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and evaluate new business development opportunities aligned with MPI’s growth strategy
  • Actively prospect and engage potential customers in the U.S. growth markets
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams to advance selected initiatives from concept to execution
  • Develop business cases, market assessments, and commercialization strategies for new opportunities
  • Drive project progress by managing timelines and milestones
  • Collaborate with internal sales, operations, and corporate teams to support project execution
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs to identify future opportunities
  • Clearly document project assumptions, risks, and next steps to support management decision-making
  • Identify and evaluate potential business investment opportunities and lead the execution of selected projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong motivation and proactive mindset toward new business development and market creation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence potential customers and internal stakeholders
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and work in an evolving, ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
  • Experience related to plastics, polymers, or chemical materials is preferred
  • Japanese proficiency above daily conversation level is preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a cross-cultural business environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support business development activities
  • Travel Requirement could be up to 50%
