Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Transportaion & Logistics Intern in the Savannah Machinery Works facility.  This Intern role will support the Transportation and Logistics team by assisting with day-to-day logistics, shipment tracking, reporting, and administrative activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to domestic and international transportation operations, supply chain processes, import/export documentation, and transportation analytics. The intern will work closely with transportation professionals to gain practical experience while contributing to departmental projects and operational support activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with tracking domestic and international shipments and providing status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain transportation records, shipment logs, filing systems, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the preparation, review, and organization of import/export documentation under the guidance of the Transportation team.
  • Communicate with carriers, vendors, freight forwarders, and internal departments to gather information and help resolve shipment-related issues.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, charts, presentations, and data analyses related to transportation activities, expenses, and performance metrics.
  • Assist with freight invoice review, expense reporting, and auditing activities to support transportation cost management.
  • Monitor shipment milestones, proof of delivery documentation, and transportation records to ensure timely updates and record retention.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, process documentation updates, and other administrative or special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, Operations Management with a graduation date of May 2027 or later.
  • Interest in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or international trade.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Excel functions such as formulas, charts, and pivot tables is preferred.
