FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Title: Personal Banker (Full-Time)

Location: 7815 N. Knoxville Ave, Peoria Illinois

Anticipated Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Shifts will be scheduled during regular business hours, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 - 5:15.  No Saturday hours.

This individual will provide personalized education and expert recommendations to customers on a variety of banking products and services that we have to offer.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Personal Banker, you will play a key role in building customer relationships and helping clients achieve their financial goals. Key responsibilities include,

  • Engage and Build Customer Relationships: Foster lasting relationships by cross-selling CIBM Bank and subsidiary products that align with their goals, driving growth for both the customer and the bank by identifying customer needs and effectively recommending our products that serve them best.
  • New Account Processing: Manage the full process of opening new accounts, including data entry, completing necessary documentation, accepting deposits, and issuing debit cards.
  • Sales and Success: Contribute to the branch’s success by meeting individual and team goals and participating in sales campaigns designed to elevate our services and offerings.
  • Support Growth: Help generate loan and deposit growth, maintaining relationships within the bank’s risk parameters.
  • Customer Support: Be a go-to resource for customer inquiries, offering solutions and addressing any issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the bank in community activities, building the bank's presence and creating positive community connections.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide administrative support to retail and lending staff to meet customer needs and assist with sales efforts.
  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and controls to protect customer transactions and ensure security.
  • Continued Education: Participate in ongoing training to stay current with products, sales strategies, and compliance regulations.
  • Effective Communication: Engage effectively with customers, colleagues, and business contacts in a diverse, inclusive work environment.
  • Foster a Positive Workplace: Contribute to a positive and professional work culture by building strong working relationships, demonstrating respect, and maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of banking regulations and practices consistent with that normally obtained through 18 months of education or training beyond high school, or equivalent, is required. 
  • Skills and abilities sufficient to perform the essential functions--such as customer service and transactional duties, data entry, basic mathematical calculations, and communication skills.
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs. is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Approximately one to three years of experience in banking or a related field, knowledge of bank regulations, and proficiency in using computer software for typical office applications are preferred.
