The Tax Investment Manager is responsible for underwriting, modeling, executing, and managing a diversified portfolio of tax credit investments, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Investment Tax Credits (ITC), and other federal and state tax credit programs. This role provides critical expertise in evaluating tax-advantaged investment opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing aftertax returns, and maintaining strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.


Investment Underwriting & Modeling

  • Lead financial underwriting and detailed tax credit modeling for LIHTC, ITC, and other tax credit investment opportunities.
  • Evaluate project feasibility, risk, credit quality, capital structure, and projected tax benefits.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models incorporating sensitivity, scenario, and return analyses.
  • Prepare investment recommendations, presenting findings and due diligence outcomes to senior leadership.

Execution of Tax Credit Investments

  • Manage end-to-end deal execution, including structuring, negotiation, documentation review, and closing coordination.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, risk management, and external partners (developers, syndicators, investors) to ensure timely and accurate closing of transactions.
  • Ensure all investment executions meet internal policy requirements, tax compliance standards, and strategic portfolio objectives.

Portfolio Monitoring & Asset Management

  • Oversee ongoing monitoring of the tax investments portfolio, including performance tracking, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Analyze financial reporting, construction progress, lease-up metrics, credit delivery status, and operating results of underlying projects.
  • Identify potential issues or variances and recommend corrective actions or mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain uptodate portfolio reporting and dashboards for internal stakeholders and regulatory needs.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in tax credit investing, renewable energy finance, real estate finance, or related fields.
  • Direct experience with LIHTC and/or ITC underwriting strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of federal and state tax credit programs, partnership structures, and tax compliance considerations.
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and duediligence skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, with strong execution and projectmanagement capabilities.

The base pay range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $160,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
