About This Role

The Weapon Systems business is seeking a Project Manager for the Hill AFB, Utah location. The Project Manager will own a subset of a major defense program, under the supervisor of a Sr. Program Manager, and work within a highly collaborative and dynamic Program Office.

This role requires excellent organization, teamwork, and communication skills to ensure program execution that meets mission objectives. A successful candidate in this role will be action-oriented, have strong written and verbal communication, and exhibit a team mentality.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will have responsibilities including but not limited to the following:

  • Managing the financial, technical, and schedule requirements of program components to deliver products that are technically acceptable on-time and in a cost-effective manner.

  • Understanding the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and critical path for a subset of the program and executing any mitigation efforts to ensure on-time / early completion of tasking.

  • Supporting Control Account Managers (CAMs) in execution to a baseline budget - ensuring accurate Estimates to Complete and robust variance reporting from all CAMs supporting a subset of the program.

  • Interfacing with critical suppliers and Textron Systems' internal Procurement organization to communicate program updates / changes to and from the supplier.

  • Working creatively to solve customer problems and communicating program progress both internally and externally.

  • Assisting with proposal generation and submittal to the customer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar discipline required.

  • Experience working on project teams, inclusive of project schedule development / monitoring and risk management.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in a team-based environment - team player.

  • Demonstrated ability to works across organizational boundaries.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in MS office.

  • This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a Secret level security clearance. Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for a Secret clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • 5 years of experience in formal project or program management roles.

  • Understanding of Earned Value Management principles.

  • Understanding of principles associated with Risks and Opportunities.

  • Proposal development experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with Supply Chain and the supply base.

  • PMP Certification or equivalent.

  • Prior US military or defense / aerospace industry experience.
