Job Summary
The Guest Service Specialist supports an exceptional boutique lodging experience at Chanticleer Inn Bed & Breakfast by delivering warm, attentive, and professional guest service throughout each stage of the guest journey.
This role serves as a primary point of contact for guests and supports front-of-house operations, guest communications, light food service, and property oversight. The Guest Service Specialist ensures guests feel welcomed, informed, and cared for while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and operational excellence.
Typical schedules occur between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with shifts ranging from 6-8 hours.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
  • Deliver excellent guest service to internal and external customers in alignment with Rock City Enterprises' mission, culture, and values.
  • Model appropriate guest and partner interaction at all times, maintaining a professional and welcoming presence.
  • Interact with guests on property, by phone, and via email to assist with general inquiries, reservations, and local attractions.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest needs and requests on-site.

Front Desk, Cash Handling & Transactions
  • Process retail sales, deposits, and general guest payments accurately.
  • Engage in general cash-handling procedures in accordance with company policies.

Property Operations & Oversight
  • Oversee daily operation of the main guest house.
  • Open and close the main guest house each day according to established procedures.
  • Coordinate and facilitate guest check-ins and check-outs, including room changes when necessary.
  • Ensure property and assets remain secure at all times.
  • Maintain pool and recreational areas when open, ensuring spaces are guest-ready and safe.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and identify any issues or needs.
  • Notify management of general property maintenance concerns in a timely manner.

Food Service & Facility Support
  • Perform setup, maintenance, and operation of morning and afternoon food service.
  • Clean and stock bathrooms and maintain cleanliness of non-guest room areas.

Compliance & Team Support
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed and enforced consistently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall lodging operations.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in lodging, hospitality, or a related field preferred; training provided as needed.
