Job Summary

The Housekeeper at Chanticleer Inn Bed & Breakfast plays an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable guest experience at one of the region's most distinctive boutique lodging properties atop historic Lookout Mountain.

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and presentation of guest rooms and shared spaces in accordance with Chanticleer Inn standards. Typical schedules occur between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with shifts ranging from 6-8 hours per day, up to five (5) days per week with two (2) days off. Under the direction of the Chanticleer & Grandview Manager, the Housekeeper supports guest satisfaction through attention to detail, consistency, and service excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Professional Standards

  • Deliver excellent guest service to internal and external customers in alignment with Rock City Enterprises' mission, culture, and values.
  • Model appropriate guest and partner interaction at all times, maintaining a professional and welcoming presence.

Guest Room & Facility Cleaning

  • Enter guest rooms following established procedures to ensure vacancy and proper access before entry.
  • Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms according to standards.
  • Replace soiled linens and terry with clean items; make beds and neatly fold terry.
  • Clean and stock bathrooms thoroughly, including fixtures, floors, and supplies.
  • Clean non-guest room areas as assigned.
  • Remove trash, dirty linens, and used service items from rooms and work areas.
  • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls, furnishings, windows, and fixtures.
  • Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties in guest rooms and designated areas.
  • Straighten and arrange furniture, desk items, and appliances.
  • Check that all appliances and room equipment are present and functioning properly.

Laundry & Inventory Support

  • Launder linens and other housekeeping items as needed.
  • Monitor housekeeping and related supply inventory and notify leadership when par levels are low.

Communication & Compliance

  • Notify the Manager of any maintenance issues, repairs, or guest room concerns requiring attention.
  • Ensure all company policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed consistently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support lodging operations.

Education & Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in lodging, hospitality, or a related field preferred; training provided as needed.
