Title: Data Analyst
Unit: Scattered Site Housing
Reports to: Senior Director of Housing
Status: Full Time, Regular, Non Exempt
Salary Range: $34.07 -$37.91 per hour [Approximately $62,000 - $69,000 annually]
Location: 625 West 140th Street
Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

The organization has evolved into one of the nation's preeminent reentry and justice-informed service organizations, providing formerly incarcerated people with the skills and wrap-around services needed to break the cycle of crime and incarceration and to build productive lives in their communities.
Fortune has grown steadily over the years to an agency with close to $90 million in annual budget with just under 600 staff. We anticipate that we will keep growing, both in size and depth of service. Fortune has a dual mission: both advocacy and service. The advocacy portion of our mission focuses on building a more just criminal legal system and reducing the barriers to reentry into society. The service side of Fortune has evolved to encompass a broad range of programs that started with employment and education and now includes a robust array of services, among them: alternatives to incarceration, supervised release, court advocacy, discharge planning within correctional facilities, licensed substance use and mental health treatment, a housing continuum ranging from emergency and transitional through permanent congregate and scattered site housing, assistance in obtaining benefits, a care management unit, HIV services, a food and nutrition program, and an arts program. Each service we provide is informed by the needs of the population we serve. Fortune currently serves approximately 14,000 people a year. Our program models are recognized, both nationally and internationally, for their quality and innovation. We have locations in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan and Queens.

Position Summary:
The Fortune Society's Scattered Site Housing (SSH) program provides supportive services and case management to participants who have been identified with a history of being justice impacted. Our participants have a history of being diagnosed with mental health and/or substance use disorders and homelessness. The Program Analyst will provide support to the SSH team to ensure that key performance indicators and program deliverables are evidence in services and data.
The Data Analyst will report directly to the Senior Director of Housing, but will work closely with the Program Directors and Managers to assess, analyze and report on various data points for the housing department.
This is a growth position for the right candidate who can input, aggregate, and analyze multiple data
points, anticipates the logical next step and can work closely with senior management to use data
analysis to inform operational best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Directly run reports and conduct ongoing internal and external analyses using the agency's internal Management Information System (MIS) as well as various external contract databases.
  • Manage the internal and external referral process for the entire division, monitoring for appropriate follow-up by the social services team.
  • Conduct chart review and prepare trend reports for the executive team.
  • Advise the social services management team on performance trends related to contract goals,

including mid-month analysis of enrollment and engagement activity levels, including preliminary forecasting for the month's CI outcomes.
  • Coordinate with the Evaluation and Quality Improvement (EQI) team and IT teams to develop and update tools that measure client performance, while tracking milestones and achievements.
  • Ensure that new reports are generated with modifications as required.
  • Participate in special projects and summits.
  • Manage the board report process and other data analysis projects as requested by senior management; liaise with EQI as appropriate to complete projects.
  • Engage in process documentation, staff training, and regular quality assurance monitoring to ensure accurate database entries in both agency and funder database.
  • Some administrative support is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience with data analysis/management.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, and comfort with learning

multiple data platforms.
  • Must be detail-oriented, computer savvy, and results-driven.
  • The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally competent manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to multitask.
