Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting UK business operations through reporting, analytics, data processing, testing, and data quality oversight. This role supports UK inventory management through placement and recall processes, skip tracing strategies, recurring operational reporting, process validation, and analytical projects designed to improve business performance and decision making. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a passion for leveraging data to drive operational efficiency and business outcomes.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with UK business leaders, operations teams, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and data-driven decision making.
  • Support recurring UK data processing activities, including file creation, placement and recall processing, validation, quality control reviews, report generation, and distribution.
  • Support inventory management activities including account placements, recalls, inventory segmentation, routing strategies, and related performance analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance performance reporting used to monitor UK business metrics, portfolio movement, agency activity, skip tracing results, vendor performance, and operational trends.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improved inventory management, placement strategy, recall timing, and skip tracing effectiveness.
  • Support analytical projects by gathering requirements, preparing data, conducting analysis, and clearly communicating findings to business partners.
  • Design, execute, and evaluate tests related to inventory strategies, skip tracing processes, operational workflows, data sources, reporting logic, and business initiatives.
  • Define, document, and improve business processes that enhance the value, accuracy, and usability of internal and external UK data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement analytical solutions that improve efficiency, reporting, controls, and business outcomes.
  • Validate process changes and business initiatives to measure effectiveness and quantify operational impact.
  • Research data integrity issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of reports, files, and datasets.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, data definitions, validation procedures, file layouts, testing results, and reporting methodologies.
  • Support skip tracing analysis by evaluating data availability, match results, vendor output, and downstream business impact.
  • Provide analytical support for placement and recall decisioning, including inventory segmentation, performance tracking, and operational review.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, MIS, or Computer Science; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAS, SQL, relational databases, or other analytical tools is highly desired.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with recurring processes, transactional data, operational reporting, and data validation routines.
  • Experience analyzing large operational datasets and translating findings into actionable business recommendations preferred.
  • Experience with collections, financial services, contact center operations, or debt purchasing environments is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Interest in learning UK business operations, placement and recall processes, skip tracing data, and portfolio performance analytics.
