About This Role:

The Pastor of Womens Ministry provides spiritual leadership, care, and direction for the women of the church by cultivating environments where relational discipleship can thrive. As the primary leader for Womens Small Groups, she champions connection, growth, and community while also overseeing Bible studies and ministry events that engage women at every stage of life. Through pastoral counseling and intentional leadership development, she equips and empowers women to live out their faith and to actively serve and disciple others within the church and broader community.

What You Will Do: Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship

  • Live out the core virtues and mission of The Met to invite others into meaningful relationship with God and each other.
  • Provide pastoral leadership and care by cultivating environments where relational discipleship can thrive.
  • Personally invest in the spiritual growth of women through prayer, biblical counsel, and intentional discipleship relationships.
  • Champion a culture of discipleship by equipping women to grow in their faith and actively disciple others.
  • Discern and respond to care needs, offering direct support or connecting women to appropriate care resources.

Ministry Strategy, Events & Engagement

  • Provide vision, direction, and oversight for womens ministry environments, including Bible studies, events, and connection points.
  • Lead, resource, and support womens Bible studies, including identifying, training, and equipping leaders to teach and facilitate.
  • Ensure all ministry expressions align with the churchs overall discipleship strategy and mission.
  • Empower volunteer leaders to plan and execute ministry initiatives that effectively serve women across various life stages.
  • Foster a healthy volunteer culture marked by ownership, collaboration, and spiritual growth.
  • Regularly evaluate ministry effectiveness and engagement, making adjustments to better reach and disciple women.

Small Groups

  • Provide spiritual oversight of the discipleship process within small groups and their leaders.
  • Relationally invest in and equip leaders and apprentices through modeling, coaching, and training.
  • Collaborate in the development of small group curriculum aligned with sermon series and church initiatives.
  • Regularly assess the health of small groups, leaders, and participants, providing support as needed.

Other Ministry Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the church database to effectively track engagement and participation.
  • Partner with Adult Ministry leadership to develop and manage ministry budgets in alignment with church objectives.
  • Relationally connect with first time guests and those interested in joining small groups to foster assimilation into relational environments and next steps in their discipleship journey.

Your Qualifications: Education & Experience

  • You are a fully committed follower of Jesus Christ and a member of The Met Church (or willing to transfer membership to The Met).
  • You agree with and act in accordance with The Mets Statement of Beliefs.
  • Must be actively leading a discipleship small group.
  • You have been called by God into full-time ministry and are actively involved in making disciples who go and make other disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • You have a personal commitment to live out the 7 Essentials: abiding in Christ; reaching the lost; connecting the unconnected; chasing the strays; intentionally shepherding people towards spiritual maturity; identifying, equipping and releasing leaders; and functioning as a team.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related ministry experience in a discipleship focused environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of related ministry leadership experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software. Able to quickly learn and adapt to new technology & systems.

Hours and Work Environment:

This is a full-time, salaried position. A typical work schedule is Sunday through Thursday and may include Friday &/or Saturday to meet the needs of various ministry events. As for all staff members, its important to maintain a healthy work/life rhythm and schedules may need to adjust from time to time to support this effort.
