Missions In Brief

Group RIFSEEP: 2 Your main activities: You will follow the work related to the areas relevant to the Ministry of the Interior of non-European international organizations, their program agencies within a team of specialized advisors. You will particularly follow the activity of the United Nations (UNSC, UNDP, UNHCR, etc.), the G7 and the OSCE. You will prepare the deadlines related to these organizations and contribute to defining French positions. You will propose elements of strategy in the context of international negotiations and interministerial work. You may represent the ministry in certain cases. On these issues, you will develop and maintain a national and international network. You will manage a geographical portfolio focused on Latin America consisting of following and directing the internal security cooperation with certain countries. You will prepare the strategic and political deadlines related to these countries and may reinforce other advisors outside your portfolio, particularly the one in charge of North America, and ensure the replacement of his portfolio in his absence.

You will participate in the drafting of an international strategy of the Ministry of the Interior. You will acquire a global competence on international internal security cooperation by developing close links with the other advisors, in a logic of mutual support.

These missions will be carried out in close relation with the services of the ministry (in particular the Directorate of International Security Cooperation), the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Armed Forces.

Your professional environment: Activities of the service The Directorate of European and International Affairs (DAEI), established by decree on October 27, 2020, is responsible in particular for coordinating the activity of the services of the Ministry of the Interior and the Overseas in European and international matters, preparing diplomatic deadlines and leading strategic work on the subject with the services of the ministry and external partners, in particular the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the General Secretariat for European Affairs and the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union. Attached to the general secretariat, the DAEI elaborates and leads the European and international strategy of the ministry and participates in the implementation of the foreign policy of France in the areas relevant to the ministry.

Composition and staff of the service The DAEI, with a staff of 40 agents, includes the Sub-Directorate of European Affairs, the Sub-Directorate of International Action, the Sub-Directorate of Legal and Institutional Affairs and the Bureau of General Affairs and Coordination. The Sub-Directorate of International Action is composed of 11 agents (1 general officer of the gendarmerie, 3 senior officers of the gendarmerie, 1 A +, 6 A).
