Job description

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Technician
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain
LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV

ROTATING SHIFT: Yes ◻
NONEXEMPT ◼
Purpose & Scope of The Position:
All work must be accomplished within the safety standards of Robinson Nevada Mining Company. Be aware of environmental issues impacting the mine property and use that knowledge to comply with permit conditions. Organize and be a general helper to other experienced team members and experienced technicians. Must demonstrate good time management practices and finish projects on schedule. Must be capable of performing a Workplace Inspection in the Warehouse. Work in a team environment and preserve personal safety and the safety of coworkers. Must exhibit flexibility and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and be prepared to work in changing environments, including changing weather conditions. Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Tech is responsible for Warehouse counter issuing, material handling, inventory controls, and other duties assigned by the Supervisor while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect KGHM's values.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
  • Handle material requests and issues at the warehouse counter based on established warehouse procedures. This will include knowledge of inventory locations and proper information input and handling.
  • Must have general safety knowledge of the Warehouse.
  • Active in, and supportive of, the Robinson 5x5S program.
  • Keeping shelves stocked and the Warehouse clean; including sweeping floors, dusting the area, and maintaining a neat appearance inside the warehouse and lay-down yards.
  • Operating forklifts/overhead cranes when needed.
  • Progressive training and skill sets in the JD Edwards System. This includes issuing, receiving, all cycle count and auditing functions.
  • Assist in the shipping and receiving of materials either by schedule or direction.
  • Must be able to carry out assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality, and KGHM's Rules of Life.

Required Education, Work Experience & Training:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Positive attitude and interact well with others.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • A valid Driver's License.

Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:
  • Demonstrate proper procedures for performing equipment pre-operational inspections.
  • Preferred Warehousing/Logistical Experience.
  • Know how to respond to a spill incident and be familiar with the site SPCC (Spill Prevention, Controls, and Countermeasures).
  • Understand where to find S.D.S. sheets for chemicals that are stored in the Warehouse, or that they may be exposed to, and know how to read them.

Technical Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of PC computer and/or laptop operations; proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools.
