Job description

CB Mining is an independent family-owned corporation that is growing. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Washington, PA, CB Mining focuses on product support for Longwall mines. Established from part of the Caterpillar mining group, CB Mining has grown from 2 locations in Washington, PA to now 4 locations, with additions in Marion, IL and Tuscaloosa, AL, We provide customers with rebuild services, CST gearbox rebuilds, welding and fabrications services, service exchange units, custom made cabling solutions, life cycle services including oil sampling and vibration analysis, robust inventory support, compatibility services and underground technical support. We also provide extensive machining, chroming, laser cladding, and hydraulic repairs through our valued partner Cleveland Brothers. Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintains a high standard of safety and ensures all CB Mining guidelines are followed.
• Establishes priorities and directs the work of the gearbox bay.
• Educate and train new employees in CB Mining processes & procedures.
• Work with Assistant Service Manager on parts ordering, workload, deliveries, etc.
• Keep employees on task to ensure work stays on time and on budget.
• Coaching employees to improve workflow and stay on task.
• Evaluate employee performance & set goals for improvement.
• Ensuring that deadlines are met, and work is accomplished as efficiently as possible.
• Schedule employees to ensure adequate work coverage.
• Oversee accurate time-entry of employees including time off approvals.
• Maintain inventory of customer property and outsourcing rebuilds of components internally and externally.
• Perform gearbox testing after completion and trouble shoot electronic and hydraulic systems.
• Support field operations by assisting in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues of gearboxes via CB Mining TSR's.
• Able to wire, operate power sources, and test run all gearboxes to certify a quality rebuild.
• Perform failure analysis on gearboxes that have had issues and returned to the shop.
• Maintain relationships during customer visits, perform teardowns with customers present.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility.
• Be on call for shop emergencies.
Degrees or Other Special Requirements:
• 5+ years in managing/overseeing employees a plus.
• Proven leadership skills
• History of mentoring/educating new employees a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers, employees, and other leads.
• Proven gearbox rebuilding experience.
• Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, equipment, hazards, and safety precautions of the rebuilding of gearboxes.
• Ability to maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
• Ability to read blueprints and layouts and accurately interpret for employees.
• Ability to run and oversee overhead cranes use and have safe rigging practices.
• Failure Analysis training a plus.
• High Voltage Certification or willingness to obtain a plus.
