Job description

President, Gypsum Mining Operations

Las Vegas, Nevada | Full-Time | Reports to Ownership / Executive Leadership

Base Salary: $170,000.00 – $200,000.00 / year (Commensurate with Experience)

Executive Incentives: Annual Performance Incentive (Tied to business growth, profitability, and market expansion targets) + Long-term incentive / equity participation eligibility

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a President to serve as the senior executive leader of our gypsum operation. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can own the business at the P&L level and expand our market reach — winning new customer accounts and growing our presence in existing end markets (wallboard, cement, agriculture). Our site’s Mining Manager owns day-to-day safety and regulatory compliance, so you’ll be focused on business strategy, commercial growth, and overall performance. You’ll have full authority over budget and strategic direction for the business, reporting directly to ownership/executive leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the senior executive accountable for the overall performance and strategic direction of the gypsum operation.
  • Own full P&L responsibility, including budget and capital planning, reporting results and strategy directly to ownership/executive leadership.
  • Set and drive the strategy to expand market reach — new customer accounts, new geographies, and deeper penetration of existing end markets.
  • Partner with the site’s Mining Manager, who owns day-to-day safety and MSHA/regulatory compliance, to ensure operating plans support the business’s growth strategy.
  • Build and lead the commercial function: pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and key account management.
  • Represent the business to customers, ownership, and industry partners as its senior executive.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a leadership team spanning commercial/sales and support functions.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in mining, aggregates, or industrial materials, including senior executive experience (VP, General Manager, or President) with full P&L ownership.
  • Demonstrated success growing revenue and market reach in a materials, industrial, or B2B environment.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with a track record of owning a P&L and presenting strategy and results to ownership or a board.
  • Strong executive leadership skills, with experience building and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience partnering with operational/technical leaders (e.g., a Mining Manager or plant leadership) without directly owning safety or compliance functions.

Preferred:

  • Experience specifically in the gypsum, aggregate, or industrial minerals industry is also preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mining, or a related field; MBA or equivalent business training a plus, preferably from a University with a dedicated Mining program.
  • Experience operating in a privately held or ownership-led company structure.

Compensation & Executive Benefits Package

We reward enterprise execution, commercial growth, and market expansion with a premier executive rewards matrix:

  • Competitive Base Pay: $170,000.00 – $200,000.00 annual base salary customized directly to your executive industrial track record.
  • Performance Bonus Architecture: Access to a lucrative annual performance incentive plan tied directly to business growth, profitability metrics, and strategic market expansion targets.
  • Equity & Long-Term Incentives: Eligibility for long-term incentive and equity participation programs tailored for this executive-level position.
  • Comprehensive Care Package: Robust medical, dental, and vision insurance coverages.
  • Work-Life Balance Allocations: Generous framework for earned Paid Time Off (PTO) and corporate holidays.
