Job description

Part-Time Transportation Driver

Town of Windsor - Senior Services

The Town of Windsor seeks a Part-Time Senior Services Transportation Driver to transport senior citizens and people w/disabilities in a wheel chair equipped minibus to and from various destinations. The schedule for this position is up to 19 hours/week, Monday Friday (7:30 am to 4:30 pm), with occasional opportunities for evenings and weekend trips. The hourly rate for this position is $18.50/hr.

The position:

  • Drives minibus to transport elderly and disabled clients for various programs such as medical appointments, Senior Center programs, Caring Connection, shopping, special events, etc.
  • Confirm pick up times of passengers and transportation routes
  • Assists senior and disabled adults on and off the bus, to and from their home and with packages, as needed
  • Provide a positive experience and deliver excellent customer service to the community
  • Complete vehicle inspection sheet and maintenance records

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of safe driving practices and methods
  • Effective communication skills both orally and in writing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A valid CT Public Service License or CDL required
  • Satisfactory pre-employment physical required

Successful candidates will be subject to the Town of Windsor background screening process, which includes a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen (includes screening for Marijuana)
