Job Title: Hardscape Foreman / Boulder Wall Builder

Job Description

This role leads the construction of high-quality boulder and retaining walls for both residential and commercial projects. You will oversee crews in the field, operate heavy equipment, and ensure that every hardscape structure is built to be structurally sound, visually appealing, and long-lasting. You will work on a variety of outdoor projects, contributing to well-crafted landscapes within a defined local service area.

Responsibilities

  • Build and install retaining walls, garden walls, and stone structures that are structurally sound and visually well-finished.
  • Lead and guide field crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.
  • Operate mini excavators and other heavy equipment, including skid steers and front-end loaders, to support excavation and material handling.
  • Prepare project sites through excavation, grading, and drainage planning to create stable bases for retaining walls and other hardscape features.
  • Read and accurately follow construction plans, drawings, and layout specifications.
  • Keep job sites safe, clean, and organized, and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Assist in the installation of natural stone and rock retaining walls, ensuring correct alignment and stability.
  • Perform excavation, grading, and base preparation to meet design and structural requirements.
  • Select, place, and stack stone properly, learning and applying best practices for stone fitting and structural integrity.
  • Work alongside experienced crew members to ensure precision, consistency, and craftsmanship across all projects.
  • Contribute to broader landscape projects, integrating hardscape features that are built to last and enhance overall aesthetics.
