Montefiore is an enterprise health care/hospital corporation transforming to an Agile way of working.
The Agile Coach is a senior-level facilitator and mentor responsible for guiding individuals, teams, and leaders across the Montefiore IT organization in adopting and continuously improving Agile practices. This role will be central to building a culture of agility and will require a blend of exceptional coaching skills, a deep knowledge of Agile principles, and technical expertise.
The Agile Coach works closely with Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Development team members, and senior leadership to implement Agile mindsets, promote cross-functional collaboration, and foster high-performing teams. As part of the Agile Center of Excellence, the coach will also support our broader transformation efforts to transition to more Agile ways of working
Essential Functions

  • Provide ongoing coaching to Agile teams and individuals to promote Agile principles, practices, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate leading practices for facilitating Agile ceremonies such as planning, reviews, and retrospectives, and support organization and mobilization of Agile teams.
  • Guide teams in using meaningful Agile metrics (e.g., Cycle Time, velocity, Backlog health, Predictability) to support continuous improvement.
  • Lead and deliver training workshops and coaching programs for teams, leaders, and stakeholder groups across domains.
  • Mentor Scrum Masters and Product Managers/Owners to grow internal coaching capacity and support team maturity.
  • Provide Performance Management for Scrum Master to support growth and development.
  • Partner with IT and business leadership to align Agile execution with strategic goals and delivery outcomes.
  • Work with teams to improve collaboration, dependency management, and program-level coordination across functions.
  • Help teams and leadership shift from project-centric to product- and value-driven thinking.
  • Build and sustain Agile Communities of Practice to promote knowledge sharing, role development, and culture change.

  • 7-9 years Coaching or enterprise Agile transformation role Required
  • Strong facilitation and mentoring skills with demonstrated success coaching teams, leaders, and Agile roles Required
  • Familiarity with multiple delivery models (Agile, Lean, Kanban, traditional) Required
  • Strong communication and influence skills across technical and non-technical audiences Required
  • Agile principles and delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) Recent high-level experience in Jira/Confluence Cloud. Team and leadership coaching People leadership in an Agile environment Facilitation of Agile ceremonies and workshops Change management and transformation leadership Stakeholder engagement and collaboration Agile performance metrics and information radiator experience. Conflict resolution and team dynamics Product and value-driven delivery mindset Continuous improvement and learning culture Communication and influence across levels (High proficiency)
  • Epic experience
  • Agile-related certifications are a plus but not required
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
