Job description

CDR General Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in Baton Rouge, LA. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems within the facility. This role is essential for ensuring that all equipment and systems function efficiently, contributing to a safe and productive environment.
Job Type: Full Time
Hours: 3rd Shift M-F 8:00pm-6:30am
Pay Rate: $27.50 per hour
Duties
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems including gearboxes, servos, conveyors, and other complex equipment.
  • Install and remove motors, gearboxes, and servos as needed.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical issues related to bearings and sprockets, including failure diagnostics and repairs.
  • Utilize electrical knowledge to read and interpret schematics, perform electrical troubleshooting, and work safely under Arc Flash awareness protocols.
  • Use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools for system analysis.
  • Work independently while leveraging surrounding resources (team, manuals, tools) to solve problems.
  • Provide clear examples of overcoming technical learning obstacles and applying problem-solving strategies.
  • Communicate effectively across departments and collaborate with various work groups to support maintenance needs.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance
  • Millwright experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proven hands-on floor experience
  • Demonstrated ability to discuss and provide examples of technical work
  • Ability to provide professional references confirming experience and work ethic
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, bearings, sprockets, and power transmission
  • Familiarity with electrical applications, schematic reading, and arc flash safety
  • Prior plant experience is beneficial
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn independently and troubleshoot using available resources
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Climb ladders and work at heights when needed
  • Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment with precision
  • Work in heat, noise, and industrial conditions while wearing required PPE
