The Millwright is a member of the Maintenance team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve assigned departmental goals. Working closely with all team members is critical in ensuring maintenance activities are completed correctly and on schedule, according to SOP’s and local regulatory requirements. As a Maintenance Millwright on our team, your primary responsibilities will include examination, troubleshooting, replacement/repair of a wide variety of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components. In addition, you will provide technical support to our production team during runtime hours to ensure optimal functionality of all production equipment within the facility. Utilizing our internal asset management system, your daily downtime routine will include preventative, corrective and facility maintenance. Additional tasks/duties may be required to meet operational demands.


Job Title: Industrial Millwright / Industrial Mechanic (Licensed / Unlicensed)

Job Location: Langley, B.C.

Wage

  • $40.00 (unlicensed rate)
  • $49.35 (Licensed rate)
  • +$3.00/hour night shift premium (if applicable)

Shift: Day shifts or night shifts

Additional Perks:

  • Up to 5% quarterly BTIP bonus based on company targets (ex. $43.50+5%=  $45.67 per hour if we hit our targets)
  • Benefits start after probationary period (Coverage attached) – please attach benefits overview sheet
  • $600 annual tool allowance (receipts required for reimbursement)
  • $170 + tax annual boot allowance (through our vendor only – keep receipts for reimbursement)
  • $200 referral bonus for applicable candidates

  • 2 weeks’ vacation per year to start

Responsibilities

  • Read equipment manuals and blueprints to successfully complete installations, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Inspect and examine equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective components.
  • Operate tools such as lathes and milling machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of equipment.
  • Assemble equipment prior to installation using hand/power tools and welding equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability.
  • Complete Work Orders according to PM and CM schedules.
  • Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and internal LOTO policy.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Ticketed or Apprenticeship Level (3-4) in the Millwright Trade.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (Food manufacturing is highly preferred).
  • High aptitude with Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems (Required).
  • Proven track record working with Lathes, Milling Machines and Welding Equipment (ARC, TIG, MIG).
  • Above average problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Thrives in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook).
