Job Title: Millwright
Location: Richmond, BC
Employment Type: Direct placement
Industry: Printing & Packaging
Schedule: Rotating shifts (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday)

About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright's role is to provide preventative maintenance and on call troubleshooting services for plant and plant equipment (i.e., Printing Presses, Laminators, Extruder, Slitting Machines, conveyors etc.). When not troubleshooting technical issues, the Millwright performs regular inspections of machinery (oil levels, lubrication, vacuuming, etc.), install/remove/replace components, fabricate new parts, weld, order materials, dispose waste material and research various components and inventory as required. The Millwright maintains constructive relationships with colleagues, internal customers and suppliers, keeps an open dialogue with the team by identifying concerns and opportunities for improvement and adheres to all company policies while contributing to a respectful workplace.

What You'll Bring:
  • BC or Interprovincial trade qualification as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic (Red Seal required).
  • CWB Certified in Welding and or Machinist (considered a strong asset).
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment at a Journeyman level.
  • Strong understanding of PLC's, hydraulics and pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Valid Operators Certificate for Forklift, Scissor lift (Will train)
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Plastics industry experience is considered a strong asset.
  • HVAC Experience.
  • Positive, reliable, responsible and hardworking.
  • Self-motivated, can work independently and with a team.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Able to work 8-hour rotating shifts Monday - Friday (day and afternoons)
  • Bona fide physical requirements to carry out the duties of the role include, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
