Job description

We are looking to hire a Millwright (3rd Shift) immediately at our Hunt Valley Plant located at 11100 McCormick Road in Hunt Valley, Maryland. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Facilities Manager, this position must be able to install and align equipment, fabricate and/or repair machine parts from verbal instructions, plans and drawings, as well as perform basic masonry and concrete work. 
This is a large facility (approx 1,000,000 sq. ft) and the position will require flexibility with shift and work day assignments to support business need requirements.(For example, there may be a need to work a flex schedule on another shift.) These are usually short term requests. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    minor plumbing repairs, 
•    performing inspections, 
•    audits and repairs on plant fire safety systems,  
•    fabricating machinery, equipment, and machine parts from sheet, plate, bar, and all forms of formed metal, perform welding tasks (STICK, MIG and or TIG)
•    basic troubleshooting with the facility waste water system
•    completing all required documentation (computerized and paper) associated with performing maintenance tasks
•    use the SAP CMMS software to complete work orders and requisition materials provide specific actionable information 
•    possess troubleshooting skills, identify root cause and recommend improvements on a continuous basis with cross functional teams


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Acceptable attendance 
•    Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
•    High school diploma or equivalent 
•    Four years relevant facilities maintenance experience 
•    Ability to weld, braze and use heat in straightening metal 
•    Ability to use rigging equipment such as portable cranes, chain falls, slings 
•    Ability to use all hand power tools including portable saws and masonry drills 
•    Familiar with shop tools including metal cutting saws, sheet metal shears, jointers, planners, forming machines, drill press, lathes, milling machines 
•    Demonstrated process improvement ability and leadership skills 
•    Ability to lift 70 lbs.    
•    Must be able to work in cross-functional, self-directed teams.
•    Must be flexible and adaptable with work schedule to support business needs
•    Ability to read and work from blueprints or PID drawings 
•    Must have or the ability to obtain a fork lift license along with an aerial life license


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Candidate must have knowledge of P.M. practices preferred.                                            
•    Plant waste water treatment system experience preferred
•    Knowledge and understanding of plumbing preferred
•    Knowledge and understanding of fire safety systems preferred
•    Knowledge and understanding of garage doors, dock locks, etc preferred
•    Knowledge and understanding of basic HVAC preferred

Base Salary: $26.78 - $40.18

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Dividend Program.
