POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Logistics department, ensuring the efficient movement of materials, finished goods, and supplies. This role involves coordinating the Logistics schedule, managing dispatch activities, optimizing transportation, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Logistics Supervisor will play a critical role in employee development and training, building department SOPs, as well as ensuring ERP data integrity. This individual will work closely with suppliers, carriers, production leads, and other internal teams to drive efficiency and cost savings while maintaining high service levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all deliveries are completed in full and meet delivery timelines.
  • Responsible for adhering to and executing on schedule and ensuring the ERP system accurately reflects delivery status.
  • Ensure warehouse structure including set up, organization, material planning and tracking as well as overall warehouse safety and cleanliness is upkept.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline operations. Create department plans to ensure product is transferred, stored, and shipped to site safely, efficiently and including all possible details.
  • Responsible for dispatching and scheduling the fleet and optimizing transportation routes to minimize costs and improve efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of shipments.
  • Responsible for managing the Logistics schedule, ensuring hours of work are in compliance with company policy & transportation legislation.
  • Oversee the servicing of vehicles, upkeep, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure orders are picked and staged in a timely manner and liaise with production/packing on any missing components.
  • Responsible for reporting out on backorders and tracking in the system; ensuring there is a focus on cleaning up backorders as a priority.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain strong & timely communication with all internal and external departments regarding onsite timing, scheduling, and plans around the shipment.
  • Manage employee admin and performance within the department, including 1-to-1’s, performance reviews, approving timecards, and leading daily department priority huddles.
  • Advanced expertise in Seradex Millwork Module, covering order entry, inventory management, production tracking, receiving, and PO approval workflows.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP, supporting procurement, inventory, and operational processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of wood species, laminates, veneers, hardware, and millwork materials, plus components used in restaurant furniture manufacturing.
  • Conduct incoming material inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock reconciliation for high accuracy and inventory control.
  • Lead inventory analysis and stock monitoring, supporting JIT initiatives and reducing excess inventory.
  • Experience in dispatch coordination, RFQ handling, and customs documentation for smooth logistics and cross-border material movement.
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse and production equipment like forklift, scissor lift, Raymond reach truck, and Crown reach trucks.
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of 5 floor associates, ensuring productivity, safety, and workflow efficiency.
  • Practical experience with hand tools and millwork machinery, including saws and edge banding machines.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt level) principles to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
  • Must have dispatcher experience.
  • Experience in supervising teams and coordinating logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience utilizing Seradex ERP & Business Central
  • Strong technical knowledge of millwork materials
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience operating reach/counterbalance forklift is required.
  • MUST HAVE A VALID FORKLIFT LICENSE.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be physically active for the majority of the workday
  • Required to work in a manufacturing environment which contains loud noises.
  • Hours of work – Monday to Friday from 7:00am-3:45pm. Flexibility will be required to meet business needs.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Required to remain standing for extended periods of time.
