We are an established and respected General Contracting Company seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter with construction experience to fill a key role in the Hawaii area. The selected candidate will excel at organization, communication, administrative tasks, and time management. POSITION SUMMARY
The Carpenter supports retail and commercial construction projects by performing demolition, framing, millwork, FRP, laminate work, fixture installation, gondola shelving, décor installation, and door installation in accordance with project specifications. Working under the direction of the Lead Carpenter, this role assists with layout and measurements, operates hand and power tools safely, and completes assigned tasks with accuracy, craftsmanship, and increasing independence. The Carpenter Installer helps maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant job site while collaborating closely with the crew to meet daily production goals. This position requires strong working knowledge of commercial laminate, FRP, T-Bar, drywall, cabinetry installation, and experience on active job sites with multiple trades. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds, working at heights, and performing sustained physical activity. Retail/commercial carpentry experience is essential, with additional experience in commercial door hanging, steel stud framing, and millwork/finish installation considered a plus. The role requires extensive night work and frequent travel, along with a commitment to teamwork, communication, and high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform demolition, framing, millwork, FRP, and laminate installation according to project specifications.
  • Ability to complete fixture installations, gondola shelving, decor installations, door installation according to project specifications.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Assist with layout and measurements under the direction of the Lead Carpenter.
  • Help maintain job site cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance.
  • Execute assigned tasks with attention to detail and growing autonomy.
  • Work closely with the Lead Carpenter and crew to meet daily production goals.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and material needs to field leadership.
  • Support a positive team environment and contribute to a culture of craftsmanship and accountability.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Must have working knowledge of commercial retain laminate, FRP, T-Bar, Drywall, cabinetry base, installation.
  • Experience working on active job sites with multiple trades and tight schedules.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and effectively.
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings and layout plans.
  • Experience working on active job sites with multiple trades and tight schedules.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods on active construction sites.
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment of up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights as needed.

  • Experience in Commercial Steel Stud Framing is a plus
  • Must have Retail/Commercial Carpentry experience.
    • Previous Experience in Millwork/Finishes installation for Wal-Marts, Vons, Albertsons, Safeway, CVS etc. is a PLUS
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 90% NIGHTS
