Job description

Lead with Purpose. Continue Your Mission.

At ShipMonk, we know great leaders come from many backgrounds - and military service is one of them.

If you've supervised teams, led missions, maintained accountability for people or equipment, coordinated logistics, or made decisions in fast-moving environments, you've already developed many of the skills we're looking for in an Operations Supervisor.

Whether you're transitioning from active duty or looking for your next civilian leadership opportunity, ShipMonk offers a fast-paced environment where ownership, teamwork, accountability, and execution drive success.

Why military leaders thrive here

Military leaders know how to lead people, set expectations, maintain accountability, adapt when the plan changes, and execute against a mission.

Those same skills are essential in our fulfillment operations.

At ShipMonk, you'll find:

  • Real leadership responsibility from day one
  • A team of approximately 25-30 associates to lead and develop
  • Clear operational objectives and measurable KPIs
  • Data-driven decision making
  • A team-first culture
  • Continuous improvement and innovation
  • An environment that values accountability and ownership
  • Opportunities to continue growing as the company grows

We believe in developing our people and promoting from within whenever we can. Your experience gets you in the door; what you do with the opportunity can take you further.

What you'll do
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop approximately 25-30 warehouse associates
  • Set clear expectations and maintain accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance
  • Lead shift huddles and communicate daily priorities
  • Monitor operational KPIs and adjust labor and workflows as conditions change
  • Use operational data to identify root causes and improve performance
  • Train and develop associates while identifying future frontline leaders
  • Partner with teams across HR, Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to solve problems
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and equipment, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Communicate clearly and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, eliminate waste, and strengthen execution
What we're looking for

Required

  • 1-3 years of military leadership, supervisory, team-lead, or personnel oversight experience OR 2+ years of civilian leadership experience in operations, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading people, maintaining accountability, and executing operational objectives
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret data and use metrics to improve performance
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, or overtime based on business needs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Transitioning service members, veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses with relevant leadership experience are encouraged to apply.

Nice to have

  • Experience as an NCO, Senior NCO, Warrant Officer, or Commissioned Officer
  • Military experience in logistics, transportation, supply, maintenance, aviation support, engineering, or operations
  • Degree or coursework in Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
  • Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience
What success looks like

In your first 30 days: You're learning the operation, building relationships with your team, and translating your leadership experience into ShipMonk's environment.

In 90 days: You're confidently owning your department's people and performance, using data to make decisions, and identifying ways to improve execution.

In year one: You've built a strong team, delivered results, developed others, and positioned yourself to continue growing within ShipMonk.
