Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 - Front-Line Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.
The Manager General Manufacturing 1 Front-line Manager is responsible and accountable for leading the manufacturing activities of an assigned cost center within a restricted program. This role owns performance across safety, quality, factory accountability, cost and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and day-to-day leadership to technicians and other production personnel in assembly and manufacturing areas.
  • Ensure team members receive required training and prepare daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
  • Encourage and support employee career development, including educational options for highly motivated team members.
  • Lead and support program initiatives, process improvement efforts, ensuring opportunities are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance and/or related environment
  • Must have 1 year of prior management/leadership experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access.
  • Must be willing to work on any of the following schedules:
    • Monday - Thursday, 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm)
    • Monday- Thursday, 2nd shift (4:12 pm - 2:42 am)
    • Friday - Sunday,- 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm)
    • Friday- Sunday, 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
