Job description

We are seeking an adaptable, analytical HR Generalist to support the daily operations of our Human Resources department. This position will touch all phases of the employee lifecycle—including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and employee relations.

While this role offers a remote work arrangement, it requires deep familiarity with regional practices, cross-border compliance, and occasional local alignment. Therefore, residency within the DMV area is a strict mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Lifecycle & Engagement

  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinate and facilitate seamless onboarding experiences for new hires and conduct structured exit processes for departing team members.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing grievances, and assisting managers with conflict resolution and performance improvement plans.
  • Performance & Development: Assist in managing the annual performance review process and support internal learning and development initiatives.

HR Operations & Administration

  • HRIS Management: Maintain pristine employee records, process payroll/personnel changes, and generate HR metrics and workforce analytics utilizing HRIS platforms.
  • Benefits & Compliance: Support the administration of employee benefits, leave programs (FMLA, short-term disability), and annual open enrollment cycles.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • LMS Support: Assist with the basic coordination of the corporate Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring new hires are assigned necessary compliance and onboarding training tracks.


Mandatory Requirements

  • Location: Must currently reside within the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) area. Applications outside this geographic region will not be considered.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4–6 years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist or Senior HR Coordinator.
  • Technical Skills: Proven, hands-on experience utilizing ADP (preferably ADP Workforce Now) or equivalent major HRIS platforms to manage workforce data.
  • Industry Experience: Experience working within IT Software Consulting, professional services, or a federal government contracting environment is highly preferred.
  • Remote Work Competency: Proven capability to effectively engage, support, and collaborate with a dispersed team in a remote work environment.
  • MUST BE A US Citizen/GC Holder to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity or prior experience utilizing or administering a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Knowledge of or exposure to leveraging AI tools within HR workflows (e.g., AI-driven sourcing, talent analytics, or automated HR administrative utilities).
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  • Familiarity with government contracting compliance requirements (DCAA/FAR workforce practices) is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
