Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will responsible for planning, design, construction, and operational support to world-wide Amgen clients with emphasis on plant & clean utilities.
The Senior Engineer will be part of the Engineering Technical Authority (ETA) department with a focus on initiatives that deliver compliant, reliable & sustainable utilities to support our manufacturing and development networks. This role is a member of our Plant & Clean Utilities Engineering team.
Support design of utilities related to capital program across Amgen network
Provide Utilities Related Expertise to our Operations network and partners
Assist sites in troubleshooting, and remediation to prevent future occurrence throughout the network.
Translate business needs into engineering technology solutions.
Publish and maintain Engineering Standards and Specifications.
Review performance data and recommend improvements for systems.
Facilitate the business case development of project proposals.
Analyze the system and facilities energy and water usage as well as utility costs to find opportunities for performing energy and water audits on sites.
Work with project design teams and external consultants to craft, develop, and support engineering project development, plans, standards, and equipment selection.
Investigate and deploy new technology. Ensure designs optimize the total equipment life cycle.
Develop and approve procedures for safe, efficient, and effective operation.
Advance digitalization tools for optimization of utility systems and other engineering efforts.
Identify energy and water consumption improvement initiatives and innovative / alternative technologies to optimize utility usage.
Support development of maintenance standards and techniques.
Travel up to 30%.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Engineering experience OR
Associate degree and 8 years of Engineering experience OR

Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional registration, such as a Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent OR on route to getting it.
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) qualification is an advantage
Familiarity and/or experience working in a regulated environment, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries or electronics.
Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
