Tier 2 Service Desk Support Specialist
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance or the ability to obtain a SAP clearance and readily accessible archival copy of the most recently completed SF86 to be considered.
As a Tier 2 Service Desk Support Specialist at Cherokee Nation Defense Solutions, you will be at the forefront of providing comprehensive technical support to our clients, ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems and infrastructure. Leveraging your extensive knowledge and experience in IT support.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Tier 2 Service Desk Support Specialist: $90,000, pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Tier 2 Service Desk Support Specialist Responsibilities Include:
  • Interfacing with support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Providing support services for hardware and software problems, utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Assisting with the installation of associated hardware and providing LAN server support.
  • Configuring, installing, and troubleshooting approved software elements and operating systems including classified systems and networks
  • Escalating hardware repair/replacement issues to contracted hardware vendors, when applicable.
  • Facilitating development and provision of as-built diagrams and documentation such as layout drawings, power drawings, engineering specifications, and floor plans
  • Ensuring compliance with Department of Defense and Command's Cyber Security policies and processes.
  • Providing desktop support and applying your experience and knowledge to contract-defined requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Tier 2 Service Desk Support Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Security+ certification (or higher) for IAT II certification.
  • Compliance with DoD and Command's Cyber Security policies.
  • Obtain and remain current with technical and management certifications as per DoDM 8140.03.
  • Successful completion of privileged user account exam covering relevant material and maintain standards and requirements for administrative accounts.
  • Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments.
  • Experience in computer set-up, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Training and certifications in automated help desk management systems.
  • Three to seven (3-7) years of help desk experience or in a related technical field of experience.
  • Familiarity with software associated with the Standard Desktop Configuration (e.g., MS Office, Adobe, authorized Web Browsers).
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • TS/SCI clearance and SAP eligibility.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
