Job description

Job Summary

Milestone Health Partners of Williston is growing and seeking to add a mental health counselor to work with the pediatric and/or adult populations within a therapeutic setting. We want you to be a part of our team as we strive to increase access to behavioral health services in the rural part of western North Dakota. We value providing high quality care to patients to meet each milestone across the lifespan and place an emphasis on career development for our staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completes diagnostic interviews to identify current needs of patients
  • Assesses patients and makes recommendations on the need for or modifications of therapeutic activities
  • Conducts various forms of individual and group psychotherapy, including specialized areas of treatment such as trauma-informed CBT and family counseling
  • Consults with medical personnel regarding patient's mental health status
  • Writes reports regarding patient progress and competency
  • Participates in treatment team, staff, and professional meetings
  • Participates in training programs as a supervisor for trainees
  • Works collaboratively with other disciplines
  • Presents on behavioral health topics to individuals in the community

Requirements and Qualifications


  • Master's degree in counseling or social work
  • Licensed in North Dakota by governing board
  • Experience working with diverse mental health needs in the pediatric and/or adult populations
  • Expertise in evidence-based practice with experience in trauma preferred
  • Compassionate and sensitive to patients' needs and concerns
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
